More Customers spent more time on the site
The redesigned retained an extra 16.3% of traffic
(with a 95% statistical confidence)
that previously was bouncing away after a few seconds. It those
customers stayed on the site 36% longer. Data based on
results from the Google
Experiments Tool.
Methodology
We used the Google Analytics' Experiments Tool to test out both
versions of the Home page (the original and Clay's improvements. We sent
equal amounts of traffics to each version and then measured critical
metrics:
- Average Session Duration - How much time do visitors spend
on the page. Longer is better.
- Bounce Rate
- What percentage of
visitors simply leave the site within a few seconds, not seeing anything
of value. Lower is better
